Texas Never Told Her

The Texas Never Told Her project is finished, but it has only begun! Thanks to all of the wonderful ladies for coming out with their strength for a good cause–I love you.
Now I can leave Texas with a free conscience.

The tyrant is dead

After following tweets about it from the Online Journalism Symposium last weekend and also reading about it on TechCrunch, I blogged about Prezi.com for the Examiner. My fervent hate for the atrocity that is Microsoft Powerpoint also inspired me (a little).
I hope every administrator in the world sees this. I might uninstall Powerpoint with the [...]

Here and there

Wrote a really crappy blog for the Examiner yesterday. Justification: I had written a long piece about We Tell Stories, which is a fascinating, innovative site. Then I pressed the “Haha, sucker” button that was cleverly disguised as the “submit” button.
Frustrated, and for the sake of irony, I chose to do a blog about [...]

It could happen

If you are in Austin and free tomorrow any time between noon and 3, I’ve got a proposition for you.
First, I’ll make you an horchata.
Second, I’ll take you with me to the capitol to sign your support for HB 741, the Education Works bill, which would REQUIRE SEX EDUCATION TO BE TAUGHT IN [...]

Still examining the Web

Blog post about the Web site, Addictionary. Won the amusement category at the Web Awards.
Best part: section called “There Oughta Be A Word.” Gives description, then you comment with a word creation that encompasses it.

ABC News: SXSW Vega Feature

What we’ve all been waiting for…

Shhh

This is all that matters:

Also, last night the showcase at the Music Gym patio might have topped the charts for best SXSW show I’ve seen thus far.
From it I definitely recommend:
-Keys n Krates

-Def 3
-Josh Martinez (the one and only, whose show comes with free removable mustaches)

And a sweet jazzy hip-hop band, -Shad.

All from Canada, might [...]

Watch it and weep

Sad face

The interview with Ricky Van Veen went well–It’s not up on the SXSW YouTube channel yet but I’ll sure post some U R L when it does.
I have to move to Pittsburgh sooner than expected…Mid-June. I have to take summer school to “ease my transition” into graduate school.
No Austin summer.

SXSW updates everywherez

Friday of Interactive: good start, but hey Austin, why the weather?
Watched two panels, one blogged: User-generated content: The State of the Union, and Unnatural Experiments in Web Design (check Examiner).
Tomorrow I interview Van Veen.
