Let’s consider the iPhone4 commercials (at least that I’ve seen…)
1) Nervous girl gets short haircut. Presents to boy. Boy fancies it. She is relieved, made happy by his approval.
2) Nervous woman has news for husband(?) He deduces she is now pregnant, expresses happiness. She is relieved, made happy by his approval.
3) Nervous little girl gets braces. Won’t show father; eventually does. He says it looks good. She is relieved, made happy by his approval.
4) Confident son informs his father that the missus is pregnant. They rejoice in shared fatherhood. Mother (out-of-picture) presumably happy about their mutual approval.
