Beatitudes

* Bless the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Bless those who are weeping, they will laugh.
* Bless those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, they will be satisfied.
* Bless those persecuted for seeking righteousness, theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Bless the meek, they will inherit the earth.
* Bless the merciful, they will obtain mercy.
* Bless the pure of heart, they will see God.
* Bless the peacemakers, they will be called the children of God.

So this is New Testament material written by two of Jesus’ apostles. Besides the 10 commandments, it was the only other Christian list I had to memorize for the purposes of Catholic elementary school.

I wish they were more popular… Where you at Charlton Heston?
