Our bodies, our SHELVES

While diligently minding my own business at the bookstore, I started to foolishly walk out the door when I noticed a shelf displaying a large amount of one thick book, which had a group picture of some women on it.
It was obviously feminist bait. And it lured me in… I read the title, which sounded ever so familiar, and realized that it was true: a new and republished edition of Our Bodies, Ourselves was out on shelves–desk reference style.
I squealed. No really. I did.

So: holy shit. I got to the register and when the cashier asked how I was doing, the frog in my throat hiccuped.
The sections in the book are as follows:
- Taking care of ourselves
- Relationships and sexuality
- Sexual health
- Reproductive choices
- Childbearing
- Growing older
- Medical problems and procedures
- Knowledge is power
And within the sections: how to be a woman.
The new edition (”for a New Era”) has a website with plenty of resources.
I really didn’t have to buy the book… But it’s holding power in a desk reference!
