How to transform West Campus garbage into urban art

Today in recess, an accomplice and I did a fun activity to target fraternity-affiliated acts of masculinity gone array. The particular case on stairwell 21 at the Croix included peculiar and unnecessary destruction, completed only by the cornucopia of old takeout smothered on the cool wooden steps. By countering these uh-ohs (boys will be boys, you know), we can make a better world for everyone.
Step 1: Find a huge pile of garbage on your typical West Campus (or any college-cenric area) apartment stairwell.
Here is a nice one. A helpful tip to find this gold-mine-of-a-trash-heap is to look at higher-priced apartment complexes at least two blocks from nearby sororities and fraternities.
Step 2: The process of art irony.
We chose to make signs: one says “COLLEGE” with a bunch of ’80s style exclamation points; the other says “is cool” with a drawing of an ice cream cone (and a cherry on top), a balloon, an old hot pink cell phone, and a piece of pizza–all surrounded with hearts and clouds. All words were drawn based off of the “Schoolhouse Rock” font.
Step 3: Deliver the message.
My accomplice and I also took self-portraits against the glorious derelict backdrop, but I’d rather just assume anonymity. Consider it a superpower.
Masculinity does not justify disrespect and should have no connection with it.
Party on, dude.
